Swiss Water decaf coffee, with notes of roasted peanut, soft milk chocolate and cookie dough. A smooth, medium-bodied coffee with mild acidity and a little burnt-sugar sweetness. Choose a 227g bag of beans or ground coffee.
Updated September 2026: this is the only decaffeinated coffee we roast, and it is built to the same standard as the rest of the range. The green beans are decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process, which uses water, temperature and time rather than added chemical solvents, and then roasted in the UK. It exists for the evening mug, the second pot, the night shift wind-down and anyone cutting their caffeine without giving up proper coffee.

Beans: choose this option if you have a coffee grinder and want to grind before brewing.
Ground: choose this option if you want your coffee ready ground. Check the product options against the brewer you use.
How our coffee is decaffeinated
Our coffee uses the Swiss Water Process. Green coffee beans are decaffeinated before roasting using water and Green Coffee Extract, with carbon filtration to remove caffeine from the extract. The process does not use added chemical solvents, which is the reason Swiss Water is the name coffee people ask for when they want decaf done properly.

Does decaf still contain caffeine?
A trace. No decaffeination process removes every last milligram, so a cup of decaf carries a small fraction of the caffeine in a normal cup rather than none at all. For most people that trace is irrelevant; if you are counting every milligram, our guide to how much caffeine is in coffee runs the numbers for every brew method, decaf included.
The half-caff move
The quiet trick decaf drinkers know: mix this bag 50/50 with any caffeinated blend to halve the dose without changing the taste or the ritual. It is how households with one strong-coffee drinker and one cutting-down drinker keep the peace, and it works with anything on our coffee strength scale.
Flavour comes first
This is a choice for coffee drinkers who want a decaffeinated option with a mellow, sweet flavour. Nobody should be able to tell from the cup that the caffeine is gone.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Swiss Water decaf chemical free?
The Swiss Water Process removes caffeine using water, temperature and time, with carbon filtration, and does not use added chemical solvents. That is the headline difference from solvent-based decaffeination methods.
Does decaf coffee have any caffeine in it?
A trace remains. No process removes every milligram, so a cup of decaf carries a small fraction of the caffeine in a regular cup. It is low enough that most people drink decaf freely in the evening.
When do people drink decaf?
After the personal caffeine cutoff: the evening mug, the late second pot, night shifts before sleep, and any day where the caffeine total is already spent. It is also the standard answer for cutting down without giving up the ritual.
Should I choose beans or ground?
Beans if you own a grinder, because grinding just before brewing keeps the coffee at its best. Ground if you want it ready to brew; check the grind against the brewer you use.
Is decaf coffee a good gift?
Better than most people expect. It covers the coffee lover who cannot take caffeine late, and it mixes into a half-caff for everyone else, which is why it appears in our Christmas gift guides as the insurance-policy pick.

Advent starts on the 1st of December, so the calendar needs to be on the kitchen side before then. Order by mid November for UK delivery with margin to spare. Calendars are packed in a fixed run for the season, and when they are gone there is no restock before Christmas. What is the Ground Coffee Advent Calendar?

What does SHG mean in coffee?
SHG is an abbreviation for Strictly High Grown, which refers to coffee that is cultivated at altitudes higher than 1,200m. This classification system also includes high grown coffee between 900-1,200m and central standard coffee between 500-900m on the altitude scale. Travel Coffee Maker: the 450ml Cafetière
A 450ml travel coffee maker built to be carried, and a proper cafetière rather than a compromise. The glass body is shatterproof, and it sits inside a hard plastic casing that adds a second layer of protection, so the whole thing takes knocks that would end a kitchen cafetière. There is no separate handle to snap off, a fine stainless steel filter, and a footprint small enough to live in a kitbag. Real French press coffee, wherever you have hot water.
Why this travel French press
Most French presses are designed for a worktop. Glass sides, a glued handle, and no protection at all. The moment one goes in a bag it is a matter of time. This one is built the other way round: shatterproof glass first, then a hard casing over the top that works as both insulation and shock absorber. It is the robust option for anyone who actually moves with their kit, on the road, in the field, or on a job site.
How to brew with a French press
Add 25 to 30g of coarse ground coffee to the press.
Pour 400ml of hot water (93 to 96°C) over the grounds.
Stir gently. Place the lid on with the plunger up.
Wait 4 minutes.
Press the plunger down slowly. Pour and drink.
What grind to use
Coarse. Finer grinds slip through the mesh and end up as sediment in the cup. Our ground coffee is ground for cafetière, so it works straight out of the bag.

Best coffee for a French press
The mesh filter lets the oils through, which means a fuller body than a paper filter brew. Works well with darker, chocolatey blends.
Battle Prep: Brazil and Latin America blend, balanced and chocolatey. The default daily driver.
After Hours: higher Robusta content, intense and nutty, for early starts or long shifts.
Is this French press unbreakable?
No cafetière is indestructible, and we will not claim it is. What this one has is a shatterproof glass body and a hard plastic casing around it, which is two more layers of protection than a standard glass cafetière carries. It is built to survive being packed, dropped, and used away from a kitchen.
Is it big enough to share?
450ml is three cups, or two decent mugs. Enough for one person over a morning, or two people once.
Is it a good camping coffee maker?
Yes. It needs nothing but hot water and coarse ground coffee. No filters to run out of, no power, no separate handle to lose, which is more than most camping coffee makers can say. Boil water however you normally would and brew straight into the press.

Travel Pour Over and Filter Papers
A silicone pour-over cone with 40 V60 filter papers. The cone is flexible, near-unbreakable, packs flat, and brews a clean filter coffee anywhere you can find hot water. The complete pour-over kit in one bundle.
How a pour over works
Set the cone on a mug, drop in a paper filter, add ground coffee, and pour hot water in a slow spiral over the grounds. The water draws through the coffee bed, the filter holds the grounds back, and a clean cup of filter coffee lands in the mug below. Three minutes from kettle to mug.
Why silicone over ceramic or plastic
Ceramic shatters. Plastic warps and stains. Silicone bends to fit any rucksack pocket, takes drops without cracking, and doesn't pick up coffee residue. Pre-rinse the filter paper with hot water before brewing to wash out the paper taste.
What grind to use
Medium grind. A bit coarser than espresso, a bit finer than cafetière.
