What's in the bundle
AeroPress Coffee Maker: the brewer. Plastic, near-unbreakable, brews a clean cup in about a minute. Comes with the brewer, stirrer, scoop, and paper filters.
Flow Control Filter Cap: a pressure-actuated valve that stops drip-through. Lets you steep for longer, use a coarser grind, and pull a crema closer to espresso when paired with a paper filter.
Stainless Steel Filter: a reusable 316-grade steel filter. Lets the oils through that paper soaks up, for a fuller-bodied cup. No filter paper to run out of.
Why these three pieces work together
The standard AeroPress brews a clean cup with a paper filter. Add the Flow Control Cap and you can slow the brew down, hold pressure, and get more out of the grind. Swap to the steel filter and you keep the body and oils that paper would absorb. Run all three combinations and the AeroPress becomes a versatile bit of kit, not a one-trick brewer.
Best coffee for the bundle
Single origins suit the AeroPress because the brewer produces a clean cup that lets origin character come through. Honduras SHG or Brazil Daterra are good places to start.

AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap
A pressure-actuated cap for the AeroPress that stops drip-through. Means you can steep for longer, use a coarser grind, build pressure when you press, and pull a crema closer to espresso than a standard AeroPress brew.
How the Flow Control Cap works
The standard AeroPress cap lets coffee drip through during the steep, which limits how long you can leave the grind in contact with water before flavour goes off. The Flow Control Cap uses a one-way valve that stays closed under low pressure (when the plunger isn't pressing) and opens when you push down. Steep for as long as you want, then press.

AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter
A reusable 316-grade stainless steel filter for the AeroPress. Keeps the grounds back, lets the oils through. The result is a fuller-bodied cup than a paper filter brew, and no paper to run out of.
Why 316 stainless steel
316-grade is more corrosion-resistant and harder-wearing than the 304-grade steel used in cheaper filters. It survives the dishwasher and the years.
Best coffee for the steel filter
The steel filter shows off origin character because the oils stay in the cup. Single origins are the natural pairing. Try Brazil Daterra for chocolate and nut, or Honduras SHG for hazelnut and caramel. Pair with the Flow Control Cap for the most control.

The Best Travel Coffee Maker
The AeroPress is the brewer we recommend for serious coffee on the move. Compact, near-unbreakable plastic, brews a clean cup in about a minute. The founders use it on operations, on the move, and at home. Customers use it on camping trips, commuter desks, hotel rooms, and in gym bags.
Ground coffee in the chamber, hot water on top, stir, wait, press. One vessel, one filter, one minute.
How to brew with an AeroPress
Place a paper filter in the cap and rinse with hot water to remove any paper taste.
Add 15 to 17g of medium-fine ground coffee to the chamber.
Pour 220 to 240ml of hot water (93 to 96°C) over the grounds.
Stir gently for 10 seconds.
Insert the plunger and press down slowly. Aim for 30 to 60 seconds of total press time.
What grind to use
Medium-fine. Sits between drip grind and espresso grind. If you don't have a grinder, our ground coffee (ground for cafetière) works in an AeroPress.
Best coffee for AeroPress
The AeroPress brings out clarity in the cup that gets muddied in a cafetière. That makes it the right brewer for Single Origin Coffees, where you actually want to taste the origin character.

An intense and complex blend with notes of roasted nut, dark cocoa, and sweet cedar wood. The higher ratio of Robusta to Arabica gives it an intense, rich flavour. Not one for the caffeine-sensitive.
Best brewed with a pour over or an Aeropress. We recommend grinding your own beans for the best result. Our ground coffee is ground for cafetière, which works fine in an Aeropress too.

Cleared Hot
A 30 percent cocoa hot chocolate, named for the radio call that gives the green light to engage. Scoop into hot milk or water, stir, drink. Build it into a mocha with a shot of Contact Coffee for the days when one cup isn't going to cut it.
Cleared Hot, explained
The term is the radio authorisation to engage a target. When someone says Cleared Hot, the rules of engagement are met and the weapon can be released. We named the hot chocolate for the same reason we name the coffee for callsigns: it does what it says.
How to make it
Hot chocolate: scoop into hot milk or hot water, stir.
Mocha: pour a shot of strong Contact Coffee into the mug first, then add Cleared Hot and hot milk. Stir.

Why an ammo tin for coffee
Coffee keeps best in an airtight container, away from light and air. Ammo tins were designed to seal out the elements. The rubber gasket holds an airtight seal, the steel walls block light, and the quick-release catch keeps it closed in transit.
