In short: decaf coffee is regular coffee with nearly all of the caffeine removed before roasting. Our decaffeinated coffee uses the chemical-free Swiss Water Process, which removes 99.9% of the caffeine while keeping the bean's flavour, leaving only trace amounts per cup compared with the 80 to 100mg in a standard arabica brew.
Great Tasting Decaffeinated Coffee
Decaf coffee is a great option for those who want to enjoy the taste of coffee without the caffeine. The decaffeination process removes most of the caffeine while retaining the flavour and aroma of the coffee beans. Human studies have shown that decaf coffee offers similar health benefits to regular coffee, including a reduced risk of several types of cancer.
Decaf has come a long way, often looked down on and avoided all together, but the future of decaf coffee is big. Decaffeinated Coffee has its place. We understand the demand for it so we have worked hard to create an amazing coffee, just without the caffeine!
What is decaf coffee?
Essentially, decaf coffee is made from coffee beans that have had most of their caffeine content removed through a process known as decaffeination. This involves soaking green coffee beans in a solvent to extract the caffeine, followed by rinsing and drying to ensure any remaining caffeine and solvent residue is removed. The result? Decaf coffee beans that offer the rich flavours of regular coffee but with significantly less caffeine. So, if you're looking to enjoy your daily cup without the jitters, decaf coffee is your go-to choice.
The Swiss Water Process
We opted for The Swiss Water Process to craft our amazing coffee without caffeine, keeping it chemical-free. All decaffeination processes are not created equal. The Swiss Water Process is certified organic, and it has always been committed to processing without added chemicals.
The Swiss Water Process uses only water, temperature, and time to gently remove caffeine. During this process it is still preserving all of the coffee's original characteristics. Their seal of approval means that you're getting the very best cup of decaf, free of chemicals or residual processing flavours.
Who is decaf coffee for?
Decaf has its place in any kitchen. Our decaf uses the Swiss Water Process, which removes 99.9% of the caffeine while preserving the bean's flavour, with no chemicals at any stage. The people who reach for it most:
Pregnant or breastfeeding women cutting caffeine for medical reasons. NHS guidance is below 200mg per day during pregnancy.
Anyone with a heart condition or high blood pressure managing stimulant intake.

Most coffee drinkers default to Arabica. It is smoother, sweeter, easier on the palate. Robusta has roughly twice the caffeine of Arabica by weight, which is why it is the bean of choice when you need real caffeine and a genuinely strong coffee.
Cheap Robusta has earned a bad reputation because most of it ends up as filler in low-grade instant coffee. Single origin speciality Robusta, grown and roasted properly, is a completely different product. That is exactly what Red On is.

The people of Honduras have a long-standing tradition of coffee production, and they take immense pride in their craft. The coffee is grown at high altitudes, which gives this Single Origin Honduras SHG Coffee an exceptional quality and distinctively bright taste.
What does SHG mean in coffee?
SHG is an abbreviation for Strictly High Grown, which refers to coffee that is cultivated at altitudes higher than 1,200m. This classification system also includes high grown coffee between 900-1,200m and central standard coffee between 500-900m on the altitude scale. These distinctions help understand the growing conditions and potential flavour profiles of different types of coffee. Single-origin coffee is highly sought after for its distinctive characteristics.

Travel Coffee Maker: the 450ml Cafetière
A 450ml travel coffee maker built to be carried, and a proper cafetière rather than a compromise. The glass body is shatterproof, and it sits inside a hard plastic casing that adds a second layer of protection, so the whole thing takes knocks that would end a kitchen cafetière. There is no separate handle to snap off, a fine stainless steel filter, and a footprint small enough to live in a kitbag. Real French press coffee, wherever you have hot water.
Why this travel French press
Most French presses are designed for a worktop. Glass sides, a glued handle, and no protection at all. The moment one goes in a bag it is a matter of time. This one is built the other way round: shatterproof glass first, then a hard casing over the top that works as both insulation and shock absorber. It is the robust option for anyone who actually moves with their kit, on the road, in the field, or on a job site.
How to brew with a French press
Add 25 to 30g of coarse ground coffee to the press.
Pour 400ml of hot water (93 to 96°C) over the grounds.
Stir gently. Place the lid on with the plunger up.
Wait 4 minutes.
Press the plunger down slowly. Pour and drink.
What grind to use
Coarse. Finer grinds slip through the mesh and end up as sediment in the cup. Our ground coffee is ground for cafetière, so it works straight out of the bag.

Best coffee for a French press
The mesh filter lets the oils through, which means a fuller body than a paper filter brew. Works well with darker, chocolatey blends.
Battle Prep: Brazil and Latin America blend, balanced and chocolatey. The default daily driver.
After Hours: higher Robusta content, intense and nutty, for early starts or long shifts.
Is this French press unbreakable?
No cafetière is indestructible, and we will not claim it is. What this one has is a shatterproof glass body and a hard plastic casing around it, which is two more layers of protection than a standard glass cafetière carries. It is built to survive being packed, dropped, and used away from a kitchen.
Is it big enough to share?
450ml is three cups, or two decent mugs. Enough for one person over a morning, or two people once.
Is it a good camping coffee maker?
Yes. It needs nothing but hot water and coarse ground coffee. No filters to run out of, no power, no separate handle to lose, which is more than most camping coffee makers can say. Boil water however you normally would and brew straight into the press.

Travel Pour Over and Filter Papers
A silicone pour-over cone with 40 V60 filter papers. The cone is flexible, near-unbreakable, packs flat, and brews a clean filter coffee anywhere you can find hot water. The complete pour-over kit in one bundle.
How a pour over works
Set the cone on a mug, drop in a paper filter, add ground coffee, and pour hot water in a slow spiral over the grounds. The water draws through the coffee bed, the filter holds the grounds back, and a clean cup of filter coffee lands in the mug below. Three minutes from kettle to mug.
Why silicone over ceramic or plastic
Ceramic shatters. Plastic warps and stains. Silicone bends to fit any rucksack pocket, takes drops without cracking, and doesn't pick up coffee residue. Pre-rinse the filter paper with hot water before brewing to wash out the paper taste.
What grind to use
Medium grind. A bit coarser than espresso, a bit finer than cafetière.
Best coffee for pour over
Single origins do well in a pour over. The clean filtration shows off origin character. Try Brazil Daterra for chocolate and nut notes, or Honduras SHG for hazelnut and caramel.
